Kbrizzy Releases Well Acclaimed Solo Project !
Kabelo B Matiwaza, more popularly known as “Kbrizzy” is a talented artist from the City of Kings (Bulawayo) who is active in both the Zimbabwean and Namibian music industry. He released his first solo project, “The Cashmere Summer” on the 29th of April exclusively on the website kobulawayo.co.zw
The 10-track project, which was released for free and will be available on all music sharing platforms, features Bulawayo artists Asaph, Rockie Doub, Vic Jita & Silolamkhonto. Singles from the project such as “Diablo”, “Party kaNyoko” and “Mali Yami” have already turned into the talk of the City, with a combined 6800 downloads amongst the three of them in the first 5 days of album release. In the project, Kbrizzy works with a sound he believes will identify with Bulawayo more, a sound producer Silolamkhonto coined as “Sgubh’khwela”.
“I am hoping this project builds a future sound for the city and also shows that Bulawayo’s quality of Artistry is International”, said Kbrizzy with a chuckle.
Kbrizzy has already established himself as one of the A-listers in the Namibian Hip Hop industry. His up-beat energy, positive attitude and lyricism have not only made him a sought-after performer in the Namibian Capital but earned him 2 award nominations at the Namibia Music Awards in 2017. His efforts have also not gone unnoticed in the City of Kings, as he recently became a nominee at the Bulawayo Arts Awards scheduled for May the 26th.
Apart from entertaining in Bulawayo, Kbrizzy has also shared stages with International South African Hip Hop stars such as K.O, Cassper Nyovest, Kid X, Nadia Nakai and AKA under Namibian record label Bermuda Music. His previous joint album “The 48 Genius Summers”, released in November 2016 with label mate Ray, and charismatic performances gained him a lot of attention. His latest music is inspired by changes he has experienced recently in his life, and he has high hopes for the success of his projects.
